Trees for Welford was started in 2021 by three villagers.
We were thrilled to win a grant from the Lottery Community Fund to explore how we could plant trees in and around the village.
With expert help, we have looked at all the places that could happen – from private gardens and agricultural land to roadside verges and open spaces including the playing field and the sports field.
We held an exhibition show everyone what our experts have suggested and to gather views.
We’ve helped people to plant trees in their gardens by providing saplings and advice, and we’re talking to local organisations and landowners about ways to get more trees planted in and around the village.
If you’d like to be involved, please get in touch.
